Should We Kill For God?

Throughout the course of history, millions of people have been killed in the name of religion, hitherto.  Wars have been won and lost in the name of religion. People have been tortured and executed in the name of religion. Whether it is misinterpretation of scripture, extremist ideologies or religious rites, many people have died because of religious crises. Does God instruct his creations to kill his creations? Is there any justification in any holy book for someone to be killed. Does God command the killing of ‘unbelievers’ or is he the ultimate judge? Is killing for God divine or a human construction? If we should kill for God, then what is killing for God and in what instance should it be carried out?

Bible

2 Chronicles 20:15

"And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle [is] not yours, but God's.

1 Samuel 17: 47

And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle [is] the LORD'S, and he will give you into our hands.
