Is our destiny decided by God?

Throughout history, the concept of divine destiny has been a mystery to human beings. While some people believe that humans naturally have absolute control over their actions and destiny, others believe that there is a supernatural power controlling their fate and destiny. Islam and Christianity, the two major religions in the world today, as well as some other faiths say that human destiny is in the hand of God. However, even with scriptural texts and scholastic interpretations, the concept of God controlling what people do, what they become, or how they end is perplexing. Does God have absolute power over people’s future? Do they have free will? Are they predestined to be kind or wicked, rich or poor, happy or sad? Are they predestined to be believers or unbelievers? Are they predestined to be dwellers of heaven or hell? Can they decide, control or change their fate?

Bible

Jeremiah 29:11

For thus says the LORD: When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will visit you, and I will fulfill to you my promise and bring you back to this place. 11For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfareb and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. 13You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.14I will be found by you, declares the LORD, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the LORD, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.
